Hi, Web-ed.

Although I'm not a fan of F/F spankings or parental spankings (and this one is both!), this cartoon does have a certain appeal. The young bride looks really cute holding the phone receiver in one hand and rubbing her sore bottom with the other! And she has those lines radiating from her backside that indicate that she's still feeling the sting of Mom's hairbrush.

AND I completely agree with WillJohn that Mom should pass the hairbrush to her son-in-law.

I thought the info you presented with this week's update was interesting and I have to agree with you about Keller's style. It's adequate but doesn't have the erotic appeal of many of the humorama artists. Of course, if you're goal is to crank out as many drawings as possible to make a living, this would certainly be a time saver. I like the idea behind this one and of course, I'm always up for seeing a freshly spanked young lady rubbing her bottom . Drawings style aside, I still got a chuckle from the obvious look of satisfaction on mom's face . I liked it . Good update! Thanks, Phil

I don't have a color scan of this drawing, Butch, and from its appearance (and Keller's methods) it was almost certainly black & white from the beginning. Of course, someone could have colored it along the way (in the files I have a few colored versions of some Humorama cartoons we'll be seeing some day), and if I ever spot such a version, I'll be sure to post it on the page.

O.K., just a few more words about both these series. Rivals of Humorama features this week the first true M/F OTK spanking of the series so far, but I have 7 more in the files, and all of them are also M/F OTK. We will resume the series in the fall after Super-Spanking Summer and Homecoming Week, and it will conclude with the earliest known secretary spanking!

As for Super-Spanking Summer, this has become an annual feature at CSR (I think this is its 6th year) and I believe most readers are on board with the idea of super-heroines and super-villainesses getting spanked with perhaps one caveat: we're always plagued by a superabundance of F/F works and not enough M/F drawings. As I've explained in the past, this is largely due to the proclivities of the artists involved, who seem to prefer this orientation. Not much I can do about that except commission some new M/F spankings, which despite having almost no money I managed to do! I ordered two commissions, one of which we'll see next week: Robin Spanks Batgirl, by Zani - just to get us off to a good start .

This is actually a pretty good looking spanking drawing. We have a nice looking spankee with a spankable bottom and a surprised look on her face As you noted, the OTK position is a bit off since she seems to be on his lap at a strange angle but this is still the best we've seen from the "Rivals of Humorama" series. I'm assuming that the spankee is wearing a skirt and if that's the case, Kimbrell could have done a better job of showing her raised skirt.......although I suppose no one's looking at that anyway . I enjoyed the info about Kimbrell and also your speculation as to just where this might have come from. I thought someone did a nice job on the animation as there is lots of motion, including her bottom . I'll be looking forward to Super Spanking Summer as well as returning to this series later on . There's a lot to like about this one, especially that it's M/F and OTK! The girl is attractive. She looks young but not underage... like maybe a high school senior or a college student. Hot weather is hitting Chicago, and that means it's time for Super-Spanking Summer! I've been too busy to work much ahead, but I believe I have enough examples of Superheroines and Super-villainesses getting spanked to take us through Labor Day at two updates per week .

This week we begin two mini-series with

• The Teen Titans Series, Zatanna Spanks Raven.
• Then in the Batman Family series, Robin Spanks Batgirl, an exciting new work by Zani specially commissioned for CSR!

Next Week: Super-Spanking Summer continues, as Raven spanks Zatanna and Batgirl spanks Lois Griffin, of all people.
We'll also have the monthly Spanking Search Report and perhaps I'll have had enough sleep to write coherently about what we'll be seeing the rest of the summer.

P.S. Dan's been having more troubles getting on to the board, which is why we haven't heard from him in a while. I'm working on it now.

Zatanna spanks Raven is certainly an interesting drawing. the backwards command spoken by Zatanna not only instructs the hairbrush to spank Raven's behind but apparently also removes all of her clothes except her bra . After watching this performance, I would guess many young women would be hesitant to work as a magician's assistant . The OTK position is actually pretty good even if she isn't over anyone's lap. I also like Raven's expression of pain, indignation and worry . Zatanna is apparently all business although I would have thought perhaps she might have at least had a smile of satisfaction on her face. Thanks for the background on this one as I wasn't really familiar with Zatanna. I wonder if the sparkling magic effect is also supposed to serve as pain stars......or perhaps that purpose is served by the stars in the backdrop. Either way, it looks like Raven's bottom is stinging .

I don't know what Batgirl did but whatever it was, she must have been a really naughty girl and I'll bet she'll be thinking twice before doing it again . Our boy Robin looks really pissed and he's obviously spanking her with all the strength he can muster . Batgirl looks to be one sorry young lady at this point............squalling, tears flying, legs churning and arms flailing. It's just the kind of blistering spanking I love best . I have to wonder just how red her bottom is going to be by the time Robin calms down and lets her up . I thought Zani did a really excellent job on their expressions and also on capturing the action of this scene as Robin Blisters Batgirl's bottom . Great start for super spanking summer . Really under the gun once again this week - the May Search Report will have to wait for next week and I've just barely got two updates ready. The second was rather interesting as in researching it (which I always do with any spanking drawing) I found another good spanking. The only drawback is that both our updates this week are F/F - I'll work on it.

This week's entry from Palcomix certainly reminds me of last week's . The situation is reversed, of course, but still very similar. The spankee is nicely drawn and well proportioned. Nice expression of pain and dismay as well as a red, shining bottom . I'll say one thing, I sure wish I had been at this magic show .

Those second 2 pics are interesting. The original by Marinetti is very well drawn although I was somewhat surprised that Batgirl was able to get Catwoman across her knee without getting those huge breasts in the way . Batgirl certainly appears to be enjoying herself but Catwoman seems to be a bit more apprehensive . The OTK position is just right and everything seems to be nicely drawn . Catwoman appears to be a bit bottom heavy, just the way we like it . That, and his mastery of the craft you mentioned, makes me wonder if Marinetti isn't a spanko . If he isn't, he should probably give it a try . I also have to wonder just what possessed Slipway to put Lois Griffin's head on this drawing . However, I will give him a big thanks and a tip of the hat for calling our attention to this

Raven spanks Starfire - this was all I could manage this week because of the problems with the Forum (see next item).

O.K., we're back! As you all probably know, I code the main site's pages but use phpBB for this forum, because creating all the code for a bulletin board myself would be way too much work. The board consists of tables (data bases) that contain the substance, such as our unsernames and posts, and files which contain images, attachments, and the php code to make everything work. Usually once or twice a year, a new version of phpBB comes out and I have to upgrade this board to it. An automatic update package is provided, but it never works properly and I always end up having to replace a lot of files by FTP'ing them to the correct directories. The previous update had not gone well and I believe we ended up with some sort of "hybrid" version that consisted of pieces of 3.1.5 and 3.1.6 which somehow still worked.

Last Monday when I tried to update from 3.1.6 to 3.1.9 (they came out with several new versions quickly) it was much worse, and the update package damaged something so badly (probably a table) that we got a fatal error every time we requested the board. I know a lot of you tried to get to the board and got this error message because I watched helplessly as my error log grew longer and longer.

I could get no help from phpBB as their own board wouldn't let me join to post a support ticket so I was on my own. To make matters worse, even my web site control panel didn't work as well as it should, with invalid SQL syntax being generated, and I was beginning to wonder if there was anyone left out there who could write decent code. (Note to business management: cheaper is not always better, and maybe you should hire some out-of-work American IT people instead of offshoring everything). I'll spare everyone the gruesome details, but finally I recovered the tables by running about 450 SQL queries (I prepare a set of these every week just in case!). This is a tricky task as once the tables are gone, if you can't get them back all the old posts etc. would be lost forever. I moved in all the 3.1.9 files from a fresh installation package, but the tables were still in the 3.1.6 configuration so the board didn't look right (we had another hybrid, half 3.1.6 and half 3.1.9). I then updated the tables to 3.1.9 by running only a part of the 3.1.9 fresh installation package (not a procedure you'll find recommended anywhere). If that sounds like a difficult task to pull off, you're right - it was! Blowing away production tables is not for the faint of heart, as you know you are getting rid of (in this case) more than 6 years worth of posts, and with them all the spanking pics posted by our Resident Artists and others.

Anyway, if we start recounting bad software tales, we'll be here all night as I'm sure we all have some. The main thing is that the indefatigable Web-Ed has triumphed once again and our beloved CSR Forum seems to be running o.k. with all the old posts and attachment still intact There do seem to be a few cosmetic differences which are part of the new version. I may be able to get our banner back on the pages eventually, but for now, I'm just going to sigh in relief, take a break, and then see what new posts I've missed.

WOW! All this sounds like an epic struggle and I think we're all happy that you were able to prevail in this matter . I know we are all really appreciative of all the time and effort you have put in to salvage the forums, especially when you consider that you were already overloaded before all this happened. My hat is off to you Just thinking about it makes me tired......LOL. We're all grateful, not only for your willingness to do all this work but also for all you knowledge of how to accomplish this and keep us running . After looking at the forums, I think you can take pride in your most recent triumph. THANKS .

After all this, commenting on this week's update seems almost anticlimactic but I will anyway. You mentioned that both spanker and spankee in this one are better suited to the submissive role and there do seem to be a lot of those and definitely a lot of F/F spankings. I guess it could be that there are lots of men out there who just like looking at naked girls. While I definitely do like looking at naked girls, I really prefer M/F spankings as do many of us. Still, this one is pretty well drawn and as you mentioned, the OTK position is pretty good. I think what I don't like about this one are the facial expressions. It seems to me that the artist put little thought into them and I personally feel that the emotions of a spanking are just as important as the spanking itself. Anyway, it seems to me that the artist's intention here is to show 2 naked girls playing with each other rather than to show an actual spanking. The spanking is just used as the situation where the girls can get naked and play with each other.
